The Berry Patch Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer organization raising money and awareness in the battle against pediatric cancer. Our efforts directly support ongoing research into new treatments and better understanding of pediatric cancers.

The Berry Patch Foundation was created in memory of Carrie Sloan.

Carrie was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in July 2002. Less than two years later she lost her battle with cancer. Additional research and education may have led to an earlier diagnosis, resulting in valuable time to fight this deadly disease. In 2005, Carrie’s family and friends established The Berry Patch Foundation with the desire to stop cancer from taking the most precious life, a child’s.

The causes of childhood cancer are largely unknown; yet more children than ever before are surviving its touch. Thirty years ago a child had only a 30% chance of surviving cancer. Today through advancements in pediatric cancer research, education and treatment a child has almost an 80 percent chance of survival.

But still that is not enough. Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease among U.S children. We have helped pediatric research by providing equipments to a pediatric cancer research lab at the University of Michigan. Here are the thank you letters (opens new window) that we received. By donating to the Berry Patch Foundation you can continue to help the fight against pediatric cancer.
